The Territory
Different hikes and trekkings start from Champillon Mountain Hut and they are suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers. You can decide to stop at our hut just for a quick break before endeavouring your next hike or you can relax and enjoy the whole day with us.
We collaborate with the “Tor des Geants”, an endurance trail competition involving the entire Aosta Valley region. The route runs along the paths at the foot of the highest Four-Thousanders in the Alps and through the Gran Paradiso Natural Park and the Mont Avic Regional Park (the Alta Via 1 and Alta Via 2 of the Aosta Valley) with the start and finishing line in Courmayeur, and covers a total of around 336km (200 miles), with an altitude range of 24,000 metres. This trail is more than just a competitive sports event; it is also a way to promote tourism in the Valle d’Aosta, through the municipalities the race runs through.
