Gps Coordinates for Champillon Mountain Hut
From Plan Détruit car park to the Mountain Hut
Leave your car at the Plan Détruit car park and start walking on the mountain road (not covered with asphalt), then turn left following the path along the canal ru de By. Pass by the little chapel and keep walking till you cross another mountain road heading to the alpine cattle farm (“alpeggio”) “Pessinoille”. From there, follow the path indicated by the yellow signs TDC (rhomboidal shape) or by the yellow signs indicating the number 1 (triangular shape).
From Turin and Milan
Take exit “Aosta Est” from Turin- Aosta highway (A5), then get the tunnel heading to Gran San Bernardo. Follow the signs for Valpelline (first right after the tunnel exit) and keep going for around 3 kilometres, then turn left following signs for Doues (national road 29). Once at Doues, follow signs for Champillon and keep driving for around 12 kilometres till you reach the car park located in Plan Détruit (2078 metres).
From Switzerland
Pass through the Gran San Bernardo tunnel or gap and follow signs for Aosta. Drive for 25 kilometres till the centre of Variney, then turn right following signs to Valpelline. Keep going for around 3 kilometres, then turn left following signs for Doues (national road 29). Once at Doues, follow signs for Champillon and keep driving for around 12 kilometres till you reach the car park located in Plan Détruit (2078 metres).
From France
Pass through the Mont Blanc tunnel or Piccolo San Bernardo gap and follow signs for Aosta (if you take the motorway take exit “Aosta Ovest”). Keep driving on national road 26 till the regional hospital “Umberto Parini”. At the roundabout (the hospital is on your right hand side), take third exit towards Gran San Bernardo (national road 27), till the centre of Variney, then turn right following signs to Valpelline. Keep going for around 3 kilometres, then turn left following signs for Doues (national road 29). Once at Doues, follow signs for Champillon and keep driving for around 12 kilometres till you reach the car park located in Plan Détruit (2078 metres).
